Talking With Children and Young People About Death and Dying : A Workbook

Designed specifically for the use of counsellors and therapists working with children who have suffered bereavement. This workbook can be used as a basis for opening discussions and as a medium for helping children and young people to communicate and understand the often painful and confusing thoughts and emotions provoked by the death of someone close to them. It is presented in a format that can be read by both child and adult simultaneously, every page is illustrated with pictures that both hold the childs interest and trigger ideas. Beginning with an exploration of the concepts of death and dying, the workbook covers all aspects and stages of bereavment from the initial pain of separation to the anger, fear and dreams that the child may experience, concluding with sections on remembering and going on.
