The Story
Product Description Jacob and Jason West were only looking for a new home. Their plans were to start a freighting business in 1875 Virginia City, Nevada. But Fate had different plans for them. Jake, the older brother, fell in with the Four Seas Ranch, owned and run by adopted brothers Brandon Chamberlain and Sandoval Cobra. Circumstances led him to become a member of their Pistoleers, a group of gunfighters hired to fend off and chase away any interlopers to the valley which the Four Seas wanted to call their own. Jason, on his way to meet Jake in Virginia City, also ended up waylaid in Pine Valley. Only Jason was on the other side of the fencethe side of Mexican sheepherders. Without either brother knowing they were on opposite sides, a war began in earnest between the two factions, and Fate intended for someone to die. Would it be the tubercular Brandon Chamberlain, his evil, powerful brother Cobra, or the West brothers?... About the Author Kirby Jonas is the author of nine novels about the Old West. He and his brother, Jamie, come from a long line of pioneers, and were themselves born in the old western town of Bozeman, Montana. Kirby researches his novels extensively to give his readers the kind of realism and authenticity they have come to demand of him. He has been a police officer, security guard, wildland firefighter, and is now a firefighter with the city of Pocatello, Idaho. He is married to his wife of sixteen years, Debbie, and they are raising four children. Jamie Jonas, Kirbys older brother, is also a product of the West. He, like Kirby, is an artist, and they rendered the cover of Disciples of the Wind together. Jamie is a social security agent in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and is married to his wife from Peru, Susanna, and raised their daughter Andrea.
