One of the hazards of working with an archive the size and scope of the Frith Collection is that you are daily confronted with historical photographs in their thousands ... Compiling and writing this book has given me an opportunity to reacquaint myself with some of my favourite photographs from the archive...I have taken considerable licence with dates.
